We become a B Corp:
everyday care, measured.

Our 2024.

This impact report describes how Watermelon pursues its common benefit: what we did in 2024, with what measurable results, and what goals we set for the year ahead.

Published pursuant to Law 208/2015, paragraphs 376-384.

Why we are
a B Corp.

At Watermelon we all work towards one important goal: building a better world. We hold that change must start with the individual, and we are committed to sharing with our suppliers, clients, community and friends the importance of working responsibly, sustainably and transparently towards people and the environment.

Gender equality.

60% of Watermelon is owned by a woman, who serves as director and manages its financial and human resources.

Renewable energy.

Photovoltaic system

In 2019 we installed a photovoltaic system on the roof of our Morbegno premises; since then and up to December 2024 we have produced 43.44 MWh.

Equipment

We use low-energy computers and equipment and avoid incandescent bulbs both in the office and in our video productions.

Solar thermal and district heating

We have solar thermal panels for heating water, which we integrate with district heating: a solution that combines environmental sustainability, innovation and efficiency.

Reduce, reuse, recycle.

Reuse

We support initiatives against the use of plastic bottles and disposable containers, with a metal bottle for every employee and collaborator. We use only washable plates and glasses and have a water purifier and carbonator available to the office.

Waste reduction

We print nothing but the strictly necessary, on set too. We encourage clients and suppliers to exchange documents digitally. The only printer in the company is an EcoTank.

Recycling

We sort the waste we produce and turn the organic part into compost.

Watermelon for action.

We support foundations and charitable associations by developing projects to spread culture and the wellbeing of the community. We have produced campaigns for UNHCR, AIST (Italian Tourette Syndrome Association), Fondazione Veronesi, HSA Handicapped Scuba Association.

Yoga per la Ricerca

Watermelon continues its series of initiatives supporting the prevention of women's cancers with a fundraiser for Fondazione Veronesi.

Yoga per la Ricerca, 13 October 2024 at the Tennis Club in Morbegno.

On 13 October, at the Tennis Club in Morbegno, a yoga practice was held, joined by over a hundred women and men of all ages.

Local community.

Community

The choice to have Watermelon's base in Valtellina has always been founded on the ability to maintain a good quality of life for partners and employees. Supporting the territory where you live and work is a way to increase wellbeing.

Storico Ribelle

To mark our twentieth anniversary we chose to buy a wheel of Storico Ribelle, an authentic cheese made according to the tradition of our ancestors, in respect for the land and nature.

We organised a day at the mountain dairy in Gerola Alta, during which we tasted fine cheeses and decorated our third wheel.

Welfare and wellness.

Ensuring a comfortable working environment has always been important to us, because feeling good in your workplace and being able to carry out your work calmly is essential.

We provide online courses for training and specialisation, which can be taken during working hours.

We encourage employees and collaborators to play sport through flexible working hours, and to use a bicycle to reach the office.

We firmly adhere to the welfare measures in place, committing to strengthening them. We believe people's wellbeing also comes from access to resources and tools that improve the quality of life, inside and outside the workplace.

Impact
assessment.

Our commitment is measured with the B Impact Assessment, the international standard that assesses a company's overall impact on governance, workers, community, environment and customers.

Future goals.

Every year we renew our commitment to improving what we do, setting concrete goals in line with the principles of sustainability and responsibility that guide our work, also with reference to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

We will increase the number of solar panels and make some changes to the cooling system, in order to increase energy production and reduce consumption.

We will buy a wheel of Storico Ribelle cheese produced in summer 2025.

We will organise some team-building activities in our area, to be defined.

During breast cancer awareness month we will hold a yoga day whose proceeds will be donated to Fondazione Veronesi, in support of research into women's cancers.

Once a month we will hold a creative lunch with all the studio's staff: an occasion to exchange ideas and opinions on the next initiatives to support.

We will continue our commitment as a B Corp.
